Shalby Hospital Journey

Shalby began as a 6-bed facility, among the first in India to perform successful total knee replacements. In the first year, it completed 14 such surgeries.

Incorporated in 2004 in Ahmedabad, it grew rapidly, with revenues multiplying 100 times in a decade. In 2007, the first flagship multispeciality hospital opened in Ahmedabad with 201 beds.

The network expanded in 2012 with Krishna Shalby in Ahmedabad and a 146-bed hospital in Vapi. By 2015, hospitals in Indore, Jabalpur, and Mohali marked entry into Central and North India.

In 2017, Shalby went public and added hospitals in Jaipur, Surat, Naroda, and Mumbai. In 2018, it celebrated 1,00,000+ joint replacement surgeries. In 2021, Shalby acquired implant manufacturing assets from California’s Consensus Orthopedics, becoming India’s only vertically integrated orthopedic hospital chain.

It launched the asset-light SOCE model in Udaipur (2021), Lucknow (2022), and Gwalior (2023). With import licenses for India and Indonesia, Shalby is a leader in orthopedic healthcare.
