Dr. Harbansh Lal

A specialist in Ophthalmology with a rich experience of over 42 years is currently working at Delhi Eye Centre. He was one of the first eye surgeons in India to popularise and teach the method of phacoemulsification. He gave a live demonstration of topical-Phaco (cataract surgery without injection) in 1997, which was widely reported by the media. He has performed over 100 live surgical demonstrations of no injection, no stitch, and no pad cataract surgery since then, not only in India but also worldwide. As a result, he established himself as the first surgeon in North India to pioneer no-injection cataract surgery. His book "Phacoemulsification (Text and Atlas)" is the most widely used for learning the method in the country. He has handled numerous complex medical cases and is known for attention to detail, accurate diagnosis and treating patients with empathy.
