Dr Prakash V S is a specialist in Cardiology with a rich experience of 29 years currently working in Ramaiah Narayana Heart Centre. He is one of the few cardiologists who is proficient in treating many arrhythmias as primary operators, including AVNRT, WPW and other Accessory Paths, Atrial and Ventricular Tachycardia (ischemic and non-ischemic), Atrial Flutter, and Pulmonary Vein Ablation for Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. He performed catheter-based ablation for atrial fibrillation for the first time in India in 1999. He has also performed ablations for other complex arrhythmias such as atrial tachycardia after mitral valve replacement, percutaneous epicardial mapping, and ablation for complex ventricular tachycardia using 3D electro-anatomical mapping (CARTO). He is an expert in implantable devices like the Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT-D/CRT-P), in addition to performing interventional electrophysiology operations on a regular basis for the management of cardiac rhythm abnormalities. He also deals with devices for structural heart diseases like ASD and PDA.
