Dr Krishna R Murthy is a well-known Ophthalmologist currently associated with Vittal Eye Hospital, Hosakerehalli in Bangalore. He has 27 years of experience in Ophthalmology and has worked as an expert in different cities of India. He has worked in many reputed hospitals like Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health Sciences, Bangalore and Prabha Eye Clinic & Research Centre, Bangalore.

He then did a Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine & Surgery (DOMS) from Minto Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Bangalore in 2000. He has also completed a Vitreo Retinal fellowship from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in 2003. He went on to complete his PhD. in "proteomics of vitreous and aqueous humor" from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore in 2016.

He has also participated in research work, and various workshops under the Ophthalmology department, and published many papers. Doctor Murthy has also received many awards in his field like FICCI health care award for taking retinopathy of prematurity screening to rural India for the year 2013 and Mahashabde award for the best work in community ophthalmology on "Nayana –Taking diabetes care to rural India", All India ophthalmic society meeting, Jaipur 2009.
